Add the competition module to a product page and run a competition for your customers

Introduction

The competition module allows you to run a competition for your customers when they scan your product QR codes and click a button on the product page to win. Winners are selected at the interval you set, for example every 100th scan, and you can cap the maximum number of winners per week.

Add Competition Widget

Go to the Product Pages tab (on the left hand navigation bar) and either create a new product page, or update an existing one.

Add the Competition draw module to your product page

The competition draw module will initially look like the below, with the three default fields of email address, T&Cs checkbox and the submit button. You can add other fields within the competition draw module, and you can add a text module above it for a title or text blurb about the competition you are running.

Configuring competition thresholds

The next step is to configure your competition thresholds. The winners are not selected at random, they are selected at every Nth scan and button press. In the box Winning interval (nth scan), set this to the desired level. For example, if you want every 100th entry to be a winner, set it to 100.

You can also set the maximum number of winners per week, where a week is counted from Monday to Sunday. So for example, if you had the weekly win rate set to 100, the maximum winners per week set to 5, and 600 scans that week in total, you would have 5 winners (entries 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 - entry 600 would not be a win due to the maximum winners per week limit of 5).

These thresholds can be changed any time.

Styling competition win page

You can style the competition win page, which is the pop up that end consumers will see after they click on the button to enter.

Click on the paint palette icon in the top right of the competition draw module.

You can edit the message that winning and losing entries will see, and the colour of the text.

You can style the other parts of the competition draw module via the Form tab and then the associated tabs underneath this.

Downloading winners' data

In the analytics page on the platform (see the pie-like icon on the left hand navigation bar) you will see the total number of consumer scans of the product QR codes. The data for the competition winners is stored with the associated product page.

  • Go to the product pages tab and locate the landing page that contains your competition draw module.

  • Click on the three dots next to the title of the product page and you will see the menu option Download competition winners data

  • Click on this and it will download a CSV file containing all the relevant data for your winning entries

Testing

When a user scans your product QR code and is sent to your product page with a competition enabled, a session ID is generated and stored in a cookie. This ID tracks who is entering the competition and prevents multiple entries from the same user. Sessions last 1 hour.
